MEDIA… how powerful is it!!!!!!!!!...
I am really amazed seeing the power of the media… They have a gr8 power with them… and they influence people like any thing… after seeing the movies like “RANG DE BASANTI” and “yuva” many would have started thinking of present politics(I thought so)… and after seeing film like “kakka kakka” some thoughts abt the police department will be going on in all our minds… Those kind of films comes to the theatre only once in a blue moon…
But majority of the movies are misleading people… say if we see a violent movie some behave in a rough manner at least for a couple of minutes after coming out of the theatre and some will turn violent after seeing such movies… Now lets take Actor Vijay... in all his films he speaks about love and love marriage… seeing his films(also other actors’ films) many will think that love marriage is the best and some start loving too… but Vijay ended up in an arranged marriage (he didn’t do what he made others do)… here I don’t say love marriage is wrong… but the thing is that, to a certain extent media is influencing people to love (but actually it is lust)… this is one small example of media influencing people…
And coming to the TV Channels… NDTV, CNN IBN and other channels are doing a fantastic job… But, now I am totally irritated with a couple of channels in south India… in a couple of days time the elections are going to take place… Now these news channels are 101% biased and they spend time in finding fault in others… they fight with each other and at the end of the day the none of the citizens know what the truth is… but all of us r influenced by these channels for voting…. It’s the same news channel which gave information abt the earth quakes and tsunami and so on… These news channels have a gr8 power of making true as false and false as true…
And even in magazines there are pakka magazines, worst magazines, biased magazines etc…Its up to us to choose the good one… how to choose the good one or unbiased one… ???????????(a big question mark)

machi....a person with 16 years of good education and has a mindset to accept good things in this world is ready to accept vijay movies although he knows it is not good .....then think about an uneducated person.... few things in this world cant be corrected....

its very true that media influences people in many ways... the impact that a visual medium creates is much greater when compared any other medium of communication... ultimately, its upto the individual to be mature enough to understand what is good and what is not...

it's not that all movies influence ppl ...it is d good one which influences ppl a lot....but i too agree that some bad habits gets inculcated in today's youth...as divya said it's upto the ppl to know wat is good and wat not to do!!!!!!

mutrilum unmai.. unmayai thavira veredhuvum illai.. these days d tamil channels r totally biased towards d concerned parties.. dats d reason d parties own d channels.. ppl gotta be aware of these things, gotta b updated wid d happenings of d world, their locality atleast n make a wise decision..
Ther r NDTV n CNN IBN wher unbiased n unprejudiced programmes r bein telecasted, wid news updates happenin every hour.. those things shud b encouraged..
Comin to movies, ppl shud choose d type of movies dat they watch, its basically 4 entertainment whose purpose shud b fulfilled.. takin things to heart n mind n actin accordingly entirely depends on d individual's mental set up.. (jus another version of wat others have said :))

gonna thru ur post and all the comments..i could conclude tat all u people fear about the present generation(i.e-a age group tat is matured[18 and above])...but i am fearing about the group which knows and reasons nothing,but to blindly follow wat they see..yes..i worry about the tender minds(both guy and a gal in their adolescence)its really tough to conclude wat impact htis media will impose on tender brains???...to wat degree will it corrupt the budding brains?????
I would like to talk abt the stupid news channels tat exist in TN... Even wen Star Vijay, starting broadcasting the news produced by NDTV in tamil.. they cudnt sustain for a long time and went on juz like tat..
And only the two major channels, broadcasting their own news exist in TN..
I can only say tat all this is coz of the ppl of TN and the powers of those TWO..
We can do one thing, stop watchin any news from these TWO, and go with NDTV, CNN-IBN.. Or we shud make efforts for a mean news channel to flourish in TN.. I feel very pity of this state.. [and tats coz of the ppl over here.. :(]
